IMAGE OF A CHILD'S DRAWING

This picture is called "Spring Flowers."  It is drawn by April F., age 9, Michigan.  I chose this drawing because I love her view of the spring.  It represents a time where everything has a fresh, new beginning.

  1. What a beautiful drawing! I love the use of color. This drawing would be great to use in the classroom to teach the parts of a flower and that not all flowers look alike.

  2. It's amazing how young children can have SO much talent. You can tell a lot from a child's drawing if you pay attention closely to details, colors, the picture itself, etc. To me, drawing is one way for children to communicate. It's therapeutic and especially beneficial for children that have suffered a tragedy or loss; while other children just do it as a hobby. It's also a good intervention! Drawing helps children reduce anxiety and there are many other benefits as well. A picture is truly worth a thousand words!! This picture is beautiful! To me, when I look at it- it makes me smile which makes me feel that the child who drew it was happy which as the viewer- makes me happy. She used a wide range of pretty colors and was obviously very talented. You can tell a good story with this picture!!
